Location is great but the hotel is a fairly dated. Ironically the walls of the hotel is dotted with fantastic paintings, but the walls they hang on are in dire need of a refresh. WHEN BOOKING MAKE SURE YOU REQUEST A NON-BASEMENT ROOM. We were disappointed to arrive and find the room was a drab windowless dungeon. These rooms should be retired or sold at a far lower cost.
Very disappointing. Black carpet and black paint on stairways and corridors very worn. Room needed total refresh. Tiny shower, cracked tiles. Balcony too awful - would not/did not sit out there. Loud music from restaurant below though at least only till 10pm. Dirty and paint chipped, hard mattress, no daily service (had to ask for clean towels after 3 days). Great artwork does not give you comfort!

No elevator so we had to drag the luggage up the stairs. The reception was nice but there’s only someone attending it at sparse hours. The room service is pretty abysmal. Washroom area is small. No restocks of previously used shampoo? Pretty baffling experience but the location is great. Convenience for tourists to get around is also quite nice. The hotel however isn’t too great.
The rooms are small and not as clean as they could be for the price. That could be tolerated, but the front balcony room had loud pulsing nightclub music from across the street. Not the fault of the hotel and a Saturday night, but the music thumped til the early hours. The room had a double glazed window, but if bass drive nightclub music bothers your sleep… you absolutely need to avoid!

The room is basic but clean. The carpet needs to be deep cleaned. Otherwise, it's a quiet place with the welcoming reception smiling face. Tee is a quick thinker. Solved my problem very fast.
And there is a Asian can speak Mandarin as well. He isn't that professional for the reception but always trying to help and say hi. Very passionate 👏

Good location near the tram which provides easy access to the CBD.
The rooms at the front with balconies can get quite noisy from the street and restaurant across the road playing music from morning til night.
Quirky hotel with lots of cool art but dark, smells of mould and no lift access to the rooms.
We stayed in Mirka’s studio, it was dark, not the cleanest and was only cleaned once during an 8 night stay. Good kitchen.
Stay for the location, nothing else.
